Magnetic fields and outflows in the large Bok globule CB 54

چکیده

ABSTRACT We have observed the large Bok globule CB 54 in 850-$\mu$m polarized light using POL-2 polarimeter on James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT). find that magnetic field periphery of shows a significant, ordered deviation from mean-field direction centre. This appears to correspond with extended but relatively weak 12CO outflow emanating Class 0 sources at centre globule. Energetics analysis suggests if is reshaping globule’s periphery, then we can place an upper limit $\lt 27\, \mu$G strength periphery. Comparison archival Planck and CARMA measurements consistent over several orders magnitude size scale, oriented parallel density structure region projection. thus hypothesize while non-thermal motions may be sub-Alfvénic, subdominant gravity wide range scales. Our results suggest even able significantly reshape fields star-forming regions scales >0.1 pc.

The circumstellar disc in the Bok globule CB 26

Context. Circumstellar discs are expected to be the nursery of planets. Grain growth within such discs is the first step in the planet formation process. The Bok globule CB 26 harbours such a young disc. Aims. We present a detailed model of the edge-on circumstellar disc and its envelope in the Bok globule CB 26. Methods. The model is based on HST near-infrared maps in the I, J, H, and K bands,...

High - resolution NIR Observations of the Circumstellar Disk System in the Bok Globule CB 26 1

We report on results of near-infrared and optical observations of the mm disk embedded in the Bok globule CB 26 (Launhardt & Sargent 2001). The near-infrared images show a bipolar reflection nebula with a central extinction lane which coincides with the mm disk. Imaging polarimetry of this object yielded a polarization pattern which is typical for a young stellar object surrounded by a large ci...

Star Formation in the Bok Globule Cb54

We present mid-infrared (10.4, 11.7, and 18.3 m) imaging intended to locate and characterize the suspected protostellar components within the Bok globule CB54. We detect and confirm the protostellar status for the nearinfrared source CB54YC1-II. The mid-infrared luminosity for CB54YC1-II was found to be Lmidir 8 L , and we estimate a central source mass ofM 0:8M (for a mass accretion rate of Ṁ ...

Evolution of Magnetic fields in Bok globules?

We study the influence and structure of the magnetic field in the early phases of low-mass star formation using polarization maps of Bok globules at a wavelength of 850 μm, obtained with the Submillimeter Common-User Bolometer Array (SCUBA) at the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT). We discuss observations of the following sources: CB 26 a small globule with a nearly dispersed dense core and ...
